I can’t remember where I heard that quote, “Champions don’t quit.” But I heard it somewhere once and it stuck with me. I even wrote it on my mirror as a daily mantra. But I want to actually think about this for a moment. Nobody every became successful by quitting. Think about it. The moment you quit, it’s over. No chance of success. The only way to be successful and to make anything happen is by not quitting.
But the problem is that most people quit. When it gets hard. When you mess up. When things don’t go the way you expect them to… we quit. So I want to take a moment to encourage you not to quit. Whatever it may be in life that is hard. Maybe it’s your career or a dream you have that you think you won’t be able to achieve. Maybe it’s personal relationships or parental goals you have. Maybe it’s buying a home or a car or a boat… (I really want to buy a boat!) Maybe it’s forgiving someone or battling addiction. But the moment you quit on your goal or dream is the moment you have failed. Truly failed. Sometimes we make mistakes or have a set back, but that isn’t failure. That is a stumbling block that you have to figure out how to over-come. It’s just a pause, a redirect, a pivot. Don’t quit just because someone is standing in front of you telling you that you can’t do a thing. Go around them, find another way. But don’t EVER quit. Because then, it’s over. It is dead. It won’t ever come to fruition.
There is another saying, about falling down 7 times, get back up 8. I think about this too. The thing that makes us stronger is getting up every time we fall. To have the strength to keep going when we are tired, weak and ready to give up. The more we fall, and the more we get back up, the better we become. The person who is the last one standing will be the winner. So, you may fall. You may get knocked down, but you have to keep getting back up. That is where the real power is and where the key to success is. When it comes down to you and that other thing, whether it is another person or some stumbling block that you tripped over, getting back up is the only way to beat it and not let it beat you.
Anyone who knows me, knows that I love inspirational quotes. On Facebook and Instagram I am always posting motivational quotes. It might actually be annoying to some people. But I get a lot of people thanking me and telling me that they look for my quotes because I always seem to know what they need to hear. And that is really it. Everything happens for a reason. We see messages and signs that we need in the moments that we need them, if we are looking. So I share motivational quotes and compilation videos to encourage and inspire others. I have decided to include quotes with each one of my emotional healing blogs from now on. So, if you follow me, you’ll start to see a pattern emerge and I hope that these things can empower, strengthen and help you recover and heal the same way they do for me.
