Delicious Cilantro Onion Trout

This is my absolute favorite way to cook trout. Every time I do I am amazed at how delicious this fish is. It is so simple and easy. You can do it in the oven, on a grill or over a campfire. It is the best way to make your fresh trout into something so delicious!

All you need is a little butter, onion, cilantro and foil (and a trout of course)
Place a little butter, cilantro and onion inside the fish and on top of the fish. Salt and pepper to taste. Of course if you don’t like cilantro you can use parsley or another fresh herb.
Wrap it up in foil and poke a couple little holes with a knife or fork for some of the steam to escape. Bake or cook over fire for 10-15 minutes. Depending again on the size of the fish. Larger fish may take a few more minutes. This one took about 10 minutes.
Delicious, tender, juicy fish that comes clean off of the bones. Perfection!!! You can also add a squeeze of lime over the top if you’d like. Absolutely delicious.
